Immunity Elixir
Ingredients
- Whole lemons: 2–3 tablespoon
- Ginger: 1 thumb-sized piece, peeled and grated or sliced
- Turmeric powder: 1 teaspoon
- Black pepper: 1/8 teaspoon
- Honey (optional): 1–2 teaspoons
- Note: Excluded during detox
- Water: 2–3 cups
Instructions
Prepare the ingredients:
- Juice the lemons, removing any seeds. Save the zest if desired for added flavor.
- Peel and grate or slice the ginger.
Combine in a pot:
- Add the water, lemon juice, ginger, turmeric powder, and black pepper to a small saucepan.
Heat gently:
- Heat the mixture on low to medium heat for 5–10 minutes. Avoid boiling to preserve nutrients.
Sweeten (optional):
- Remove from heat and stir in honey, adjusting sweetness to taste.
Strain and serve:
- Strain the elixir into a cup to remove ginger pieces, or leave them for added potency.
Enjoy:
- Sip warm or let it cool and serve chilled.
